Salus Global Corporation enables greater patient safety performance by healthcare professionals and the teams they work within by delivering high-quality programs that identify and address the needs of those teams in improving their inter-professional learning, communication, teamwork, and culture.
The combined investiture of SOGC and HIROC has provided the necessary resources to expand the highly successful MOREOB (Managing Obstetrical Risk Efficiently program) and Advancing with MOREOB programs across Canada and in the United States. This has also enabled a nurturing environment for the introduction of a broader hospital patient safety program called 9 + one. This new program identifies specific gaps in safety performance and provides solution packages to address these gaps. The program focuses on clinical and non-clinical units within the acute and long term healthcare settings.
Salus' corporate name and brand icon were carefully considered and selected when the company was formed in 2007 (as a result of a HIROC investment into the SOGC's MOREOB program - click here for more) to represent the Vision and Mission of the organization, its supporting partners, and the healthcare professionals participating in its program(s).
Salus has a special meaning for the new corporation as it translates from Latin to mean “health, wellness, prosperity, good wishes, and safety”. Additionally, the Romans celebrated Salus extensively as the goddess of health and prosperity. Salus was seen as the “protector of personal health”.
The word “Global” was also chosen carefully to reflect the broader geographic scope of the new company’s mandate. As Salus Global Corporation the company will expand significantly into the United States and will begin addressing opportunities outside of North America as appropriate.
Graphically, the logo shown above is a stylized version of a globe with three “flights” of motion representing our commitment to the key value propositions of Safety, Performance, and Solutions that we provide to our clients. The stylization was designed also to evoke the notion of the fragile “egg” shape being encased in the protective environment that Salus helps to create.
The corporate headquarters for Salus Global Corporation is located in London, Ontario Canada. Salus operates under a Board of Directors made up of representatives from the two parent organizations and other key members from the healthcare field and private sector. Salus Global Corporation’s business focus is the development, marketing and operational support of its programs and solution tools to improve performance and safety in the healthcare sector.
